The Zewide 500 is the most compact two-axis camera slider on the market, which allows easy control of the lineal movement of the camera as well as turning it by up to 360°.
The Zewide 500 controller lets a greater range of time lapse effects be generated with different perspectives that increase the possibilities of creativity in the visual takes.
It is possible to keep an object in focus throughout the slider travel combined with panoramic times lapse montages of up to 360°.
Our wide experience in the use of stepper motors lets the Zewide control all the camera movements with the highest precision and repeatability. The Zewide 500 has the control electronics integrated into the camera slider platform, there is no additional external box to handle and it is easy and comfortable to use in both exteriors and the studio.
Ultra-light and compact 2-axis slider camera, ready for immediate use without wasting any time mounting pieces and accessories.Vertical and horizontal working and also underslung.
There has never been a camera slider so easy to dismount and transport with a minimum weight of 3.9 kg. It includes: a 100-cm (39.4-inch) track, control box and camera cable.
The rail the Zewide 500 slides on has been carefully designed to facilitate working and make its use as flexible as possible. For this reason it has an aluminium rack and not a belt, which allows different 65-cm (25.6-inch) or 100-cm (39.4-inch) modular sections to be added, letting you choose the working length at each moment and facilitating transport and storage. Each section of the track has three 3/8 and 1/4 threaded tripod screw points, one in the middle and the others at the ends. The 100-cm (39.4-inch) track only weighs 1.65 kg.
The Zewide 500 comes ready to couple to a 3/8 threaded ballhead. And the control box is equipped with an magnetic sensor to detect the beginning and end of the track.
Zewide 500 works with a 220-V/12-V 3A power supply or with an optional external 12-V and 4-Ah battery pack.

Zewide 500 software manual

We have created an application for Android devices (mobiles or tablets) that gives you full control of the Zewide 500. This application is available in Google Play or Android Market.

First steps:

The communication with the Zewide 500 is via Bluetooth. Once the application has been uploaded to your Android device, you have to activate the Bluetooth. Then connect the battery to the Zewide 500. It is advisable to pair it with your device. You can do so with the Bluetooth options.

Open the application. The following screen will appear:

Z500software

The screen is split into three parts:

The first part is for entering data.

The second is for movements and recording points.

The third part gives information, number of photos, time and duration of the resulting video in NTSC and PAL formats.

  • seeking_button   This button is used to look for the Zewide device you want to use and connect to it via Bluetooth
  • Interval: Key in the times you want between photos in seconds
  • Autofocus: Key in the time in milliseconds you want the camera to remain in the autofocus mode for the sensors to detect all the parameters of light. The default value is 300 ms.
  • Exposition: Key in the exposure time for the photos in milliseconds. For this to work correctly, select the Bulb mode on the camera.
    • Note: In Bulb mode it is not possible to select exposure times of less than 1/5 sec. To work with shorter times, you have to deactivate the Bulb mode, choose the aperture time (ex. 1/100) and put the value of 200 ms in the Exposition tab (this is the lowest value we can introduce).
  • S/E shoots: Key in the number of photos you want to take before the unit begins to move, and the number after finishing the movement. This function is optional and the default value is 1.
  • Ramp shoots: You can create a symmetrical ramp for the acceleration and deceleration of the movement of the unit. The higher the value, the longer the ramp will be.
  • Step distance: Key in the value in millimetres you want the unit to move between each photo.
  • Speed: Here you can select the speed you want to make the movements in the preview mode preview.
  • First point: This button places the unit at the first point keyed in.
  • Last point: This button places the unit at the last point keyed in.
  • insertpoints_button  This button is to insert points.

  • move_button  You can move the motors in the two ways with these buttons.
  • maxtorque_button  This button activates the motors at full power. It used when you have to put the unit vertically.
  • preview_button This button makes the platform do all the programmed movements continuously with acceleration and deceleration. This mode can also be used to do video recordings.
  • intervalometer_button  This button activates the intervalometer function.
  • Shoots: This shows the total number of photos there will be.
  • Time: this shows the total time that the timelapse will take to do.
  • Points: This shows the number of points we have inserted.
  • NTSC: Here we can see the length of the video resulting from the timelapse in NTSC (30 fps) video format.
  • PAL: Here we can see the length of the video resulting from the timelapse in PAL (25 fps) video format.
  • pause_button  This is the pause button. Use it to pause the programme at any time. Press it again to restart normal working.

  • Bulb ramping: The Zewide 500 is compatible with some external bulb ramping systems such as the timelapse+ or the ramperpro from Elysia Visuals.

You only have to activate the function on this screen. Then connect the corresponding cable to your unit (connector Ext. 1) and the external device you have selected for the bulb ramping.

In this mode, the external system takes charge of controlling the camera parameters, ISO, aperture, exposure times. Our device controls the movements, waiting for a signal from the external device that indicates that the photo has been finished and then carries out the movements you have programmed.
